Rahmanullah Lakanwal identified as main suspect in shooting near White House

Authorities have named Rahmanullah Lakanwal as the primary suspect in the recent shooting near the White House, which left two West Virginia National Guard members critically injured. According to officials, he suddenly appeared from around a street corner and opened fire without warning. Rahmanullah shot the troops who were stationed just blocks from the White House, and investigators quickly narrowed in on him after reviewing the video footage.  Eventually, other deployed troops managed to subdue him almost immediately after he was shot during the confrontation.

According to official sources, Lakanwal sustained non-life-threatening injuries during his apprehension. The severity of the attack and its proximity to the White House have pushed federal agencies to join the investigation. Authorities are now reviewing his immigration records, digital trail, and prior activities to determine if anyone else was involved.

Charges and allegations

Although law enforcement officials are still working on the formal charges, the allegations against Rahmanullah Lakanwal include attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and various terrorism-related offences.

Motive behind the attacks

As of now, officials have not established a clear motive, but investigators state that there is no confirmed link to extremist organisations. However, they have not yet ruled out any ideological, personal, or psychological factors. According to a relative, the family are still in shock and did not have any explanation for his actions.
