Soccer star Erling Haaland accepts Tom Holland’s dinner invite after initially snubbing actor

Norway soccer superstar Erling Haaland is making it up to Tom Holland after snubbing the actor’s invite to “hang out.”
After the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” posted a clip of Holland recounting the diss during his Monday night appearance, the athlete took to the comments section to extend an invite of his own.
“Dinner invitation accepted @tomholland2013. A little late 😅 Just name the place!” Haaland penned.
On Monday, the “Odyssey” star confirmed that his DM to Haaland went unanswered as the striker had “no idea” who he was and thought he was “a random person.”
“Yes [I DM’d him], and I’ll tell you what. That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors,” Holland jokingly told Fallon.
The actor, 29, got the idea to reach out to Haaland, 25, after seeing him at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix last month, sitting in a suite across from him.
“I just thought I’d shoot my shot, send him a text. I never imagined I’d talk about it on live television. But here we are.”
Holland took the snub on the chin though, and still hailed Haaland as “incredible” and “an absolute legend.”
Even though Norway got eliminated from the 2026 World Cup, Haaland continues to make headlines.
Not only is he known for his moves on the field, Haaland has also become a viral sensation for his impressive Birkin bag collection and signature “Viking Flow” haircut.
In one viral moment, Haaland was pictured returning to his homeland with a taxidermied raccoon in tow following Norway’s disappointing loss to England last week.
Fans can’t get over his soft and goofy personality, which is a stark contrast from his towering frame and “goalscoring machine” ways.
