Rihanna Met Gala Looks, Fashion Over the Years

Rihanna knows how to work, work, work, work, work, work on the red carpet.

Especially when it comes to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Met Gala, where the “Umbrella” singer has shined bright like a diamond for almost 20 years.

Since making her Met debut in 2007 when she donned a white Georges Chakra gown for the theme “Poiret: King of Fashion,” Rihanna has been known for her jaw-dropping Met Gala fashions, opting for looks that often close out the annual Costume Institute benefit

The 38-year-old’s penchant for extravagant fashion hit an all-time high at the 2015 event when she leaned into the night’s theme, “China: Through the Looking Glass,” wearing an oversized yellow coat dress by Chinese designer Guo Pei.

“I’m so in love with this dress, but the train is insane!” she confessed to Vanity Fair on the red carpet at the time. “I can’t really walk in it without any help—but it’s so worth it. I love this dress so much!”
