Norway soccer superstar Erling Haaland snubs Tom Holland’s offer to ‘hang out’

Tom Holland claims Norway soccer superstar Erling Haaland ignored his offer to “hang out.”
During his guest appearance on the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday night, the actor was exposed for DM’ing the athlete with the proposition — only to discover that Haaland had “no idea” who he was and thought he was “a random person.”
“Yes [I DM’d him], and I’ll tell you what. That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors,” Holland quipped, confirming the exchange, or lack thereof.
“You’re like, ‘I’ll text him. I’ll take him to dinner.’ Not even a response. Not an excuse,” the “Odyssey” actor continued. “Not, ‘I’m busy tonight, I’m playing football.’ Nada.”
The actor, 29, revealed he got the idea to reach out to Haaland, 25, after seeing him at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix last month.
“He was like a hospitality suite across from me. I just thought I’d shoot my shot, send him a text. I never imagined I’d talk about it on live television. But here we are.”
When asked if he would still have dinner with Haaland, the “Spiderman” star jokingly responded, “I don’t think he’d have dinner with me after the other day,” referring to Norway’s recent loss to England in the World Cup.
Despite the snub, Holland maintained that Haaland is “incredible” and “an absolute legend.”
Haaland has become the biggest breakout star of the 2026 World Cup.
Apart from his impressive moves on the field, the star athlete has become a viral sensation for his “Viking Flow” haircut and his Birkin bag collection — worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Last month, Channing Tatum even dressed up as the striker, joining a large group of fans who sported his jersey and a long, blond wig.
Haaland is also known for his soft and goofy personality — a stark contrast from his towering frame and “goalscoring machine” ways.
