Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi shares update after undergoing hysterectomy
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi admitted she’s not having an easy time recovering from her hysterectomy surgery.
On Friday, the “Jersey Shore” alum posted a TikTok video of herself giving a thumbs-up from a hospital bed, writing over it, “We did it Joe. Hysterectomy✅.”
She also shared a pic of herself with her post-surgery meal of choice: a serving of curly fries covered in ketchup.
Polizzi’s comment section was flooded with support.
“So proud of you,” wrote one fan. “Yeah, recovery sucks…and then one day, it is all over, you’re healed, and it is all behind you…you got this…take it easy and heal.”
“Hope so cause I’m struggling 😭,” the reality star wrote back.
Polizzi’s “Jersey Shore” costar Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola also offered words of encouragement.
“Love you!” she wrote. “Strongest badass – it’s over now and on the road to recovery.”
Polizzi, 38, revealed in April she would undergo the surgery after receiving a Stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis in February.
“I’m not great with pain, so thinking about removing an organ is scary,” she shared about the then-upcoming surgery.
“That’s a part of being a woman, and even though I’m done having kids, the thought of not being able to really upset me,” Polizzi, who shares kids Lorenzo Dominic, 13, Giovanna Marie, 11, and Angelo James, 7, with husband Jionni LaValle, explained.
Prior to undergoing her hysterectomy, Polizzi shared shared a lengthy video of herself on surgery day.
The video showed her being driven to the hospital by her parents after getting “warm hugs” from her kids, admitting she was “literally terrified at this point” while being wheeled into the operating room.
The video then cuts to the MTV star post-surgery, where she admits she’s “not great” because she had undergone a “C-section cut,” which involved removing her uterus, cervix, and some parts of her vagina “just to make sure we get everything.”
Polizzi then got emotional before apologizing for her tears.
“Sorry, it’s just been a lot,” she added. “But I’m doing my best, and I’m trying to stay optimistic.”
