Nick Cannon isn’t letting his daughter go wild when it comes to dating.
In fact, the Wild ‘n Out star—who shares 15-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey—admitted he doesn’t give his daughter quite as much freedom when it comes to dating as his son.
“My son has been dating,” Nick, 45, said of Moroccan on the May 2 episode of The TMZ Podcast, “and I’ve allowed it, I encouraged it.”
As for whether he gives his daughter Monroe the same treatment, the comedian bluntly replied, “No, absolutely not.”
“First of all, it’s absolutely a double standard,” Nick admitted, “and I know I get in trouble a lot ’cause I say things with my chest. But there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter.”
Nick—who is also dad to 10 younger children with five different women—doubled down on his point, “I am more protective of my daughter because there [are] things out there that I have to protect my daughter from. As we know, there’s certain type of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from.”
