Josh Duhamel addresses being ‘too old’ for wife Audra Mari
Josh Duhamel, 53, joked he’s “too old” for wife Audra Mari, 32, during a new podcast interview.
The “Transformers” actor talked about the couple’s 21-year age gap, specifically how his sister, Cassidy, is the same age as Mari, on Monday’s episode of the “The HoneyDew with Ryan Sickler” podcast.
“Cassidy came along and I was playing football at Minot State University,” he said. “I remember looking up at the stands and I saw my mom and had this bump.”
Duhamel added, “And I’m like, ‘Is my mom pregnant?’ I’m 21 years old and she’s having another baby.”
The “All My Children” alum said the couple’s age gap hit him recently after seeing an old picture of him holding an infant Cassidy when he was 21.
“I looked at the photo and I looked at my wife and I said, ‘You and Cassidy are exactly the same age,’” Duhamel said with a laugh.
“I am officially too old for you,” he quipped.
Duhamel pointed out that his wife and sister are “literally like months apart in age.”
“I never looked at it like that until I saw that photo,” he shared. “I was like, ‘Wait a second.’”
Duhamel also jokingly asked Sickler if the age gap is “a highlight or a lowlight” for him.
“Might be a highlight for you, and a lowlight for her,” Sickler replied.
Duhamel and the former beauty pageant queen tied the knot in 2022 after approximately three years of dating.
The couple have two children: son Shepherd, born in January 2024, and daughter Rocca, born in April.
During a May 2025 interview on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, Duhamel said his relationship with Mari was “platonic” at first because of their age gap.
But once he realized Mari was “more mature” than him, Duhamel decided to pursue her romantically.
“And that’s really how we started dating and it’s been a beautiful thing,” he shared.
Duhamel has a third child, 12-year-old son Axl Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Fergie.
The “Safe Haven” actor was married to the Black Eyed Peas singer from 2009 to 2019. Their son was born in in 2013.
In a 2023 interview, Duhamel gushed over co-parenting with Fergie.
“We both have the same priority and that’s raising a good son,” Duhamel told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
