Craig Melvin, Al Roker granted protective orders against crazed ‘Today’ show intruder
Craig Melvin and Al Roker have been granted protective orders against the crazed “Today” show intruder.
A judge issued a protective order on Friday requiring the alleged intruder, Andrew Truelove, to stay away from the morning show hosts, Truelove’s lawyer told TMZ Friday.
As Page Six previously reported, Truelove was arrested Thursday for allegedly breaking into the “Today” show studio and confronting Melvin.

The intruder slipped past security at the NBC show’s New York City headquarters and asked Melvin for Roker after being unable to find him.
After Melvin, 47, called security, the man was detained and arrested.
The Post confirmed via cops and sources that the intruder called Melvin the N-word during the incident, which happened right before 9 a.m.
“On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at approximately 0919 hours, it was reported to officers that there was a disorderly person inside 30 Rockefeller Center, within the confines of the Midtown North Precinct,” a statement read.
“Officers responded and placed an unidentified individual into custody. There were no injuries reported. The investigation remains ongoing.”
The NYPD also confirmed the intruder’s interaction with Melvin in the staircase lasted 8-10 seconds.
The statement added that the “the investigation remains active and ongoing. Charges are pending.”
Following the terrifying incident, the “Today” show released a statement of their own.
“There was a security incident this morning at the TODAY show studio. An individual entered an unauthorized area in a vestibule near Studio 1A. The person approached anchor Craig Melvin, who alerted security,” the statement began.
The NBC show confirmed the trespasser “was detained and taken into custody by law enforcement without further incident,” and that there was no “altercation” or injuries.
