‘Cosby Show’ star Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s widow suing actor’s mom for $1.2M in prenup promises

Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s widow, Tenisha, filed a lawsuit against the actor’s mom, Pamela Warner, over a prenuptial agreement dispute.

Tenisha claimed in the suit, which was filed on July 20 — one year to the date of the “Cosby Show” actor‘s drowning death — that her husband left behind $1.2 million in broken promises when he passed away, according to TMZ.

She claims in the docs that under a prenuptial agreement signed in 2022, Malcolm agreed to provide her with several financial benefits — including a $1 million life insurance policy naming Tenisha as the sole beneficiary.

However, Tenisha claimed Malcolm never purchased or maintained the policy.

Tenisha also claimed in the lawsuit that the “Resident” alum did not fund a Roth IRA for his wife, failed to make yearly tax-free payments of $16,000 and didn’t pay her a $5,000 per month salary for serving as Malcolm’s assistant and chief of staff during their marriage.

Those promises were not fulfilled due to the actor’s untimely death, the docs state.

The lawsuit was filed against Malcolm’s mom, who is the trustee of the Warner Family Trust.

Page Six has reached out to Tenisha’s legal team and Pamela for comments but did not immediately hear back.

As Page Six previously reported, Malcolm died on July 20, 2025, after drowning during a family vacation in Costa Rica. He was 54.

Local police told The Post that the beloved childhood actor was in the ocean when he got swept up in a strong current at the Playa Grande beach in Cahuita, Limón.

An autopsy conducted by Costa Rica’s Forensic Pathology Department officially ruled the death an accident, caused by asphyxiation by submersion.

Tenisha’s identity had remained private until she broke her silence on social media months after Malcolm’s death to mark their anniversary with never-before-seen wedding photos.

The couple shares a daughter, whose identity has not been revealed.
