Cara Delevingne finally breaks silence on rumored Amber Heard romance
Cara Delevingne confirmed she and Amber Heard were an item — six years after those Elon Musk “three-way affair” claims.
The model broke her silence on the nature of her and Heard’s relationship on the “Louis Theroux Podcast” Monday.
“We were close for a long time,” the 33-year-old explained, adding that they became “entangled” when Heard, 40, and ex-husband Johnny Depp “were going through the divorce.”
Reps for Heard, Delevingne and Depp did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Heard and her “Rum Diaries” co-star got married in February 2015.
The actress filed for divorce in May of the following year, and the former couple’s union legally came to an end in January 2017.
Heard and Delevingne, notably, have been friends as far back as 2014 — but their bond sparked chatter in 2016, with the pair frequently spotted out and about that summer.
Last month, Delevingne said on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that “sleeping with [her] friends” helped the “Paper Towns” star understand her sexuality.
“There was safety in that,” she explained in May. “That also didn’t mean we were gay. You know, we all had boyfriends, but whatever happens when the lights go off, that doesn’t really mean anything.”
Delevingne and Heard found themselves back in headlines after Depp, 63, sued Heard for defamation over her 2018 essay dubbing an unnamed ex abusive.
In June 2020, Heard’s friend Raquel “Rocky” Pennington’s ex-husband, Josh Drew, claimed Elon Musk slept with Delevingne and Heard at Depp’s Los Angeles home while the latter was still married to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.
Musk, 55, claimed in an exclusive statement to Page Six at the time that he had “never been intimate” with Delevingne.
“Cara and I are friends,” he insisted. “She would confirm this. Also, I wish to confirm again that Amber and I only started going out about a month after her divorce filing.”
“I don’t think I was ever even in the vicinity of Amber during their marriage!” the Tesla CEO continued.
He and Heard went public with their romance in April 2017, splitting that summer only to briefly reconcile in early 2018.
Heard, who was found liable in the defamation trial in 2022, has since been romantically linked to art dealer Vito Schnabel, director Andrés Muschietti and cinematographer Bianca Butti.
She became a mom “on [her] own terms” in 2021, welcoming daughter Oonagh, now 5, via surrogate, followed by twins Agnes and Ocean four years later.
