Blake Shelton reveals why he missed Gwen Stefani’s Vegas Sphere show after divorce rumors

Blake Shelton reportedly blamed his “d–khead” manager for not being able to see Gwen Stefani and No Doubt kick off their Las Vegas residency at the Sphere this week.

The “Austin” crooner explained his notable absence from his rocker wife’s opening show at the iconic venue during his own concert at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Sin City on Wednesday night.

“My wife came to town. She’s here. I mean, she’s not here. She’s over there at the other venue,” the former “Voice” coach told the audience, according to the Daily Mail.

“What kind of a d–khead books us the exact same nights every single night?” he added. “I think my manager did that. He’s here, isn’t he?”

Shelton’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The “God’s Country” singer, 49, kicked off his eight-show “Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas” on Wednesday night – the same night that Stefani, 56, and No Doubt launched their first of 18 shows at the Sphere.

Shelton acknowledged that his and his wife’s respective residencies would overlap during an interview with People back in January.

“That’ll be interesting because I’ll be in direct competition with my wife,” the country star told the outlet. “I’m excited about that because I know there’ll be probably a little bit of trash talking.”

He continued, “Whether we both sell out, there’s a big difference in selling out the Sphere and selling out Caesars, so she’ll have that over my head.”

Shelton also joked that “it’s not very friendly” competition when it’s “absolute ass-kicking.”

But the pair’s respective Las Vegas residencies also come in the wake of rumors that the couple was divorcing after less than five years of marriage.

The split rumors began when the power couple released their hit breakup duet “Hangin’ On” in March 2025.

Speculation about the pair’s marriage heightened in November 2025 when they didn’t attend the CMA Awards despite Shelton’s track “Pour Me a Drink” getting nominated for Musical Event of the Year.

Shelton addressed the divorce rumors earlier this year during a chat with Country Countdown USA.

“I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet,” he explained in January. “I mean, nothing. I just don’t believe it.”

Stefani also shut down rampant split speculation by sharing a slew of PDA-filled snaps with her country star hubby, including a video of them sharing a New Year’s kiss to kick off 2026.

The “Ol’ Red” crooner and the “Hollaback Girl” hitmaker met while appearing as coaches on “The Voice” in 2014. They went on to tie the knot in July 2021.

Stefani, who was previously married to musician Gavin Rossdale from 2002 to 2016, said Shelton gave her “a second chance at life” following her and her first husband’s divorce.

Shelton, meanwhile, was previously married to Kaynette Williams from 2003 to 2006 and Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.
