Amal Clooney wears vintage suede Mugler set for Capri boat day with George Clooney

Suede season came early for Amal Clooney.
The human rights lawyer, 48, spent Tuesday soaking up the Capri sunshine in a vintage Thierry Mugler set — a criss-cross halter top with an open back, plus a knee-length fringed skirt colorblocked in teal, mocha and orange.
The retro two-piece was an unexpected pick for an island where temperatures climbed into the high 80s this week.
Then again, she and husband George Clooney, 65, traveled by boat — and a breezy ride across the water perhaps called for something more substantial than your typical lightweight linen.
The mom of two rounded out her look with sold-out metallic wedge sandals from Rixo, oversized sunglasses and a canvas and leather Aquazzura tote ($1,885).
The couple made the rounds at Il Riccio beach club, where Dior has set up its Dioriviera pop-up, and toured Villa Bragaglia.
The secluded 1940s estate — commissioned by film director Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia and once a hideaway for Italian comedy legend Totò — has sat on the market since 2021. The private tour fueled speculation that the Clooneys might be scouting a second Italian home.
They were also photographed pulling up to Fontelina beach club, on the opposite side of the island.
The Clooneys are longtime fixtures of the Italian summer, having decamped for years to their 18th-century Lake Como villa — where they’ve been known to speed off to dinner by boat, too.
These outings are often an opportunity for the barrister to make a fashion statement, whether in silver sequins or a feather-trimmed minidress.
She carried the streak to the Venice Film Festival, too, in a ’90s fuchsia Jean-Louis Scherrer minidress.
The beach-day suede is this season’s newest chapter.
