Milano-Cortina Opening Ceremony set to begin in Milan
The late fashion designer Giorgio Armani was synonymous with Italy, in fact, he’s widely credited with putting Italian fashion on the map. So it’s only fitting that Milan, one of the world’s fashion capitals thanks to it being the site where Armani founded his empire, pay its respects on the world stage.
That took the form of models, dressed in Italian tricolour suits designed by Armani himself, walking a catwalk with Vittoria Ceretti trailing behind them, also dressed in an Armani-designed gown, carrying an Italian flag.
“The stadium lights up in green, white, and red: three runways, three groups of models, one celebration of Italian elegance,” Milano Cortina 2026 explained on X (formerly Twitter).
“A legacy that continues to shine, in sport and beyond.”
Armani died aged 91 in September.
