‘90 Day Fiancé’: Catie’s mom worries she’ll ‘hurt’ someone in alarming conversation
Catie’s mom gets brutally honest about her daughter’s selfishness in Page Six’s exclusive clip from Sunday’s new episode of “90 Day Fiancé.”
Catie, 26, has been struggling in her relationship with her fiancé, 30-year-old Josh, on this season of the TLC show — mainly because she can’t stop making out with other guys.
She blames it on having obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), but after she brazenly tried to kiss multiple male friends during her birthday party, Josh told her he was getting tired of her saying she’s sorry without any meaningful action behind it.
In sneak peek footage from the all-new episode, Catie’s mom is clearly team Josh and tells her she should be nice to him because he’s worthy of that.
“I think he’s really good for her,” she tells cameras of Josh, who moved from the UK to Portland, Oregon, to be with Catie. “So I’m really hopeful that they can make this work.”
“He does seem to make her think less of herself and more towards others — that’s a character flaw that she has had all of her life.”
Later, Catie’s mom is majorly disappointed in her daughter when Catie confesses that she drank tequila on her birthday and “tried to kiss everyone [she] knows.”
“That makes me really sad,” she tells her daughter, while Catie appears to have no emotions, despite telling her she’s sorry.
Catie’s mom continues, “I mean, you drink and your behavior gets obnoxious, and you’re going to hurt somebody someday.”
Catie alarmingly replies,”Like murder?,” again, with zero emotion. But Catie’s mom says she means “spiritually, not physically.”
She then gets brutally honest about her daughter’s issues.
“I don’t want to blame a lot of her behavior on OCD, but she’s got a lot of internal struggles with all those voices telling her things that she doesn’t want to be hearing all the time,” she notes to cameras.
“I mean, she’s burned some relationships — a lot of relationships, several friendships — just because, she’s a lot, and people get tired of it.”
In a previous episode of “90 Day Fiancé,” Catie broke down in tears after Josh told her she that she aggressively tried to kiss her friends, even against their will. She admitted she’s lost friends in the past for crossing their boundaries.
“I’m really ashamed about it and it’s hard to talk about,” she reflected. “I will be sad if anyone abandons me. I worry all the time that I’ll lose Josh, and I’m worried I’ll push them away by my actions.”
