Toyin Abraham dismisses viral rumor of re-arresting influencer

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has dismissed reports linking her to the alleged re-arrest of X influencer Big Ayo, following a previous online dispute between both parties in 2024.

Reacting on Tuesday, Abraham described the allegation as false and misleading, stating that she had no involvement in any arrest and was on a movie set when the claim began circulating.

“Arrest Ayo as how, pls this is fake and false news. I’m on set filming. Pls kindly disregard. I didn’t get Ayo or anyone arrested; it’s all love from me. Thank you and I will advise to kindly take this down pls,” she said.

The claim originated from a now-deleted post by an X user identified as Khan, who alleged that Big Ayo had been re-arrested at the instance of the actress.

Another X user, Prince Adeshina, also debunked the report, maintaining that Abraham was at a filming location at the time and had no connection to any arrest. The actress subsequently reposted the clarification.

“For the attention of the general public: Toyin Abraham was at a movie location and did not arrest Ayo,” the statement read.

“We urge the general public to consider the circulating report as fake news. Furthermore, the author of said report has been put on notice that, when called upon, he will be required to present evidence to support his claims”.

The rumour ties back to July 2024, when Abraham pursued legal action over cyberbullying.

She had stated then that Big Ayo, not an X user’s mother, was arrested after he posted offensive remarks about her family.

Big Ayo’s controversial post had accused Abraham of using politically linked funds for personal matters.

Abraham defended involving law enforcement at the time, citing sustained online attacks and distress.
