Victorian spinner Todd Murphy has been added to Australia’s squad for the Boxing Day Test as Nathan Lyon is set for surgery on his torn hamstring and an extended time on the sidelines.
Skipper Pat Cummins will also miss the Boxing Day Test as part of his “management plan”, and WA quick Jhye Richardson has been named.

Richardson, who took 5-42 against England in his last Test appearance four years ago, flew to Melbourne to link up with the squad on Monday. He had trained with the side in Adelaide.
