Still, the exit cuts deeps.
“What I was surprised by was just how incredibly sad I was for her,” Regan noted of Monica’s four-year run. “Not that she died, but that she never truly flipped, that she actually succumbed to the dark side and couldn’t find her way back.”
In an alternate reality, she continued, “I felt like there was this version of Monica that could have been something else, but she just could never get there. So, to me, that was the real heartbreak of it all.”
And at this point, TV fans are getting used to that particular anguish with Regan’s departure just another in a long line of exits that may or may not have had us throwing our remote at the wall.
To assuage our sorrow, we’re pouring one out for all the characters we’ve lost.
