A teenager has been charged over an incident on Tuesday which sent parts of Pinjarra into lockdown following reports a man was on the loose with a rifle.
The 18-year-old from Lakelands was arrested after seven hours on the run evading a significant police presence which included the tactical response group.
He has since been charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear, aggravated home burglary, stealing and breaching bail.
He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court this morning.
WA Mandurah District Acting Superintendent Darren Hart alleged police were informed of a suspicious person at a resident on Pollard Street around 9.30am.
By 10.10am, officers had received another report of a man on CCTV in a yard appearing to be holding a long-armed firearm.

“Police are investigating a report a projectile may have been discharged at that residence. There were no occupants inside the home at the time and no injuries have been reported to police,” Hart said.
The incident is the second firearms-related police operation in the past week, with Kenneth Giles still on the run after allegedly shooting a woman, believed to be his partner, in the hand on Wednesday.
