Irish budget airline Ryanair is taking its feud with Elon Musk to the skies.
Ryanair, which has a history of making witty posts on social media, used the billionaire’s X platform to respond to his latest “tantrum” after he hurled an ableist slur at CEO Michael O’Leary and doubled down on his talk of buying the airline.
On Tuesday, the airline rolled out its “Big ‘Idiot’ Seat Sale,” a flash sale promising tickets starting from £16.99 (roughly $22.82) “only available for Elon Musk and any other ‘IDIOTS’ on X.”
“Don’t thank us, thank that big ‘IDIOT’ @elonmusk 👀,” wrote the airline along with a mock image of O’Leary whacking Musk on the head with an “I ❤️ RYANAIR” sign.

Ryanair, in a statement directed at Musk on social media, revealed that O’Leary would hold a press conference on Wednesday to “address (undress??)” Musk’s “latest Twitshit.”
Their quarrel appeared to take off last week when Musk accused O’Leary of being “misinformed” after the airline CEO refused to add SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet technology to aircraft. O’Leary has cited additional costs and the short duration of flights to explain the decision.
In a recent interview on Ireland’s Newstalk, O’Leary responded to Musk by accusing him of knowing “zero” about flights.
“I frankly wouldn’t pay any attention to anything that Elon Musk puts on that cesspit of his called X,” he said.
O’Leary continued to criticize Musk for his part in getting President Donald Trump elected a second time.
“He’s an idiot. Very wealthy, but he’s still an idiot,” O’Leary added.
On Friday, Musk hit back at O’Leary’s comments by labeling him an “utter idiot” and calling for his firing.
In the days since, the airline used its X account to respond to a user who asked, “what is a propaganda you’re not falling for??”
“Wi-Fi on planes,” the airline responded.
