A UK clothing brand is set to close its only store in North Wales this week. It comes as huge companies have been experiencing mass closures nationwide as the cost of living crisis continues to bite.
Lazy Jones, a lifestyle clothing company based on the South Devon Coast, was started in 2002 by Gayle and John Robinson. While most of the company’s stores are based in the South West of England, earlier this year the brand also opened a new store in Mold, South Wales.
According to the store finder on its website, the brand has eight stores, including the Mold branch, which is set to shut its doors permanently.
The brand announced on October 27 that it will be closing the Welsh store this week, reports North Wales Live.
A statement said: “Due to circumstances out of our control, our shop building has been sold and it’s with great sadness that we announce our Lazy Jacks Mold store will be closing.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our lovely customers for your support over the past months! It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all!
“You can still shop with us online at lazyjacks.co.uk if you have any questions please pop in and ask, we’d love to see you before you go.”
The family-run brand, founded over 20 years ago, is known for its comfortable and clothing, including outdoor garments, travelwear, and loungewear, sold for men, women, and children.
The brand has a ‘excellent’ 4.4 rating on TrustPilot, where shoppers praise it for its good quality clothing and service.
One customer wrote: “Lovely clothing good quality needed to change the jacket for another one and was really quick turnaround.”
Another said: “Had my eye on this jacket for a while, with the weather turning more Autumnal, I decided it was time to treat myself. I wasn’t disappointed – I love it! Very comfortable to wear, keeps the wind and rain out without feeling like I’m in a plastic bag… and the gorgeous floral pattern cheers me up even when the weather is miserable.”
