Men charged over pursuit that closed Kwinana Freeway

Two men have been charged over a police pursuit yesterday that forced the temporary closure of the Kwinana Freeway.

WA Police allege a 32-year-old and 22-year-old man stole a Mitsubishi Outlander from a Victoria Park car yard yesterday morning before police spotted them driving the vehicle in Attadale.

The pursuit ended on the freeway northbound near Canning Highway when the car clipped another and rolled, ending up on its roof.

The incident forced the closure of the freeway between Canning Highway and Mill Point Road for several hours.

The 22-year-old has since been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly, failing to stop, no authority to drive, stealing, burglary and gaining benefit by fraud.

The 32-year-old man has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, trespassing and breaching bail.

Both are due to appear in court today.
