Memphis TV Anchor Dominique Dillion Reacts to Falling Asleep on Air

Dominique Dillion is hitting snooze on her viral on-air nap.
A week after the local morning anchor woke up the internet when she briefly dozed off during a live Good Morning Memphis broadcast, she detailed the moment she realized she was catching z’s on TV.
“I opened my eyes, and it was cutting to the next shot,” Dillion recalled during an appearance on the Today show that aired on Aug. 5. “I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, I can’t believe this just happened to me.’”
“I am mortified,” she continued to Craig Melvin and Laura Jarrett. “I was pinching myself under the desk like, ‘This has to be a nightmare.’ Like one of those work nightmares, because this is not my life right now.”
And while FOX13 Memphis producers were in the control room, they didn’t realize Dillion was napping.
“They thought I was simply looking down at my tablet,” she explained, “because who falls asleep in one minute, sitting up, in front of cameras?”
