An update now on the six children who were causing chaos on the roof of Perth’s juvenile detention centre yesterday, there are still three boys on the roof this morning.
Six juveniles scaled a building at Banksia Hill Detention Centre around 2.30pm yesterday, with the children damaging airconditioning units, fire safety equipment and aerials, while throwing projectiles onto the ground.

In a statement, the Department of Justice this morning confirmed the incident was ongoing, 17 hours later.
“Three detainees remain on the roof at Banksia Hill Detention Centre and staff are working to safely resolve the incident,” it read.
“There is damage to some parts of the education precinct, and it is largely superficial.
There have been no injuries to staff or detainees.”
