Hoda Kotb Gives Dating Life Update 4 Years After Joel Schiffman Breakup

Hoda Kotb is looking into a developing story—her love life.

The former Today co-anchor revealed she and a mystery man have “texted recently” after meeting by chance on a flight.

“It was the weirdest connection in the world,” Kotb told Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones during the Aug. 21 episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle. “We were both crying. It was a strange—you know when you have one of those [connections] that everything is firing on all cylinders?”

And while the 62-year-old emphasized the moment wasn’t a “real love connection” at the time, she and the man leaned into the vulnerable moment.

As she put it, “He kept saying, ‘Is this a dream? Is this real?’”

After the meet-cute, Kotb said she and the mystery man “parted ways,” but soon discovered their story wasn’t over.

“Fast forward, our company [Joy 101] went to Cannes so we could talk about our company,” she explained, “and he was in the audience randomly. And he goes, ‘Hi,’ and I said, ‘Hi.’” but then it all kind of just went away.”
