A grandmother has died after a car ploughed into the Rivervale home she was staying at just before midnight on Friday.
The 53-year-old was inside the house when a yellow Ford Falcon sedan was travelling north in an easterly direction at 11.40pm on Alexander Road, police said.
The vehicle then “left the roadway and crashed into a house”, killing one of the occupants who died at the scene from her injuries.
Multiple police and ambulances attended the scene where the home was cordoned off.
Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are now investigating and said the 36-year-old driver, who was uninjured in the crash, was arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries.
A 43-year-old passenger of the car was uninjured in the crash.
The victim is believed to be a woman visiting her daughter in Perth from Nepal with her husband.
On Saturday, relatives of the woman were gathered at the front of the rental property assessing the damage.
Neighbours described them as a beautiful family.
