GOP Declares Biden Pardons ‘Void’ as Trump DOJ Launches Autopen Investigation

ttorney Basic Pam Bondi has opened a proper investigation into former President Joe Biden’s use of the autopen, following a dramatic transfer from Republican lawmakers declaring a lot of his pardons “void.”

The GOP-controlled Home Oversight Committee, led by Chair James Comer (R-KY), has released a 93-page report alleging “a cover-up of the president’s cognitive decline.” The report asserts that Biden’s reliance on the autopen to signal pardons undermines their legitimacy and raises severe authorized questions.

In a letter to Bondi on Tuesday, Comer wrote that his committee “deems void President Biden’s government actions that had been signed utilizing the Autopen, and the committee determines that motion by the Division of Justice is warranted to deal with the authorized penalties of that willpower.”

Bondi confirmed the investigation in a put up on X, stating, “My group is reviewing the Biden administration’s reported use of autopen for pardons. Thanks to @RepJamesComer for his GREAT work on this. We stay up for working alongside @GOPoversight to ship accountability for the American individuals.”

The Biden administration pushed again instantly. A spokesperson informed CNN that the report confirmed “President Biden made the selections of his presidency.” The spokesperson added, “There was no conspiracy, no cover-up, and no wrongdoing. Congressional Republicans ought to cease specializing in political retribution and as a substitute work to finish the federal government shutdown.”
