Bondi gunman transferred to Goulburn Supermax prison
Surviving Bondi gunman Naveed Akram has been transferred to Goulburn Supermax prison more than three weeks after he and father Sajid allegedly committed Australia’s worst terror attack when they opened fire on a Hanukkah event.
Akram, 24, received medical treatment at Royal North Shore Hospital after falling into a coma after he suffered injuries in the shooting. He remained there for one week, before he was transported in a convoy of vehicles to Long Bay Jail, which includes a hospital that can attend to inmates.

He was transported to Goulburn Supermax, otherwise known as the High Risk Management Correctional Centre, on Monday.
Akram is expected to remain in the maximum-security prison while he awaits trial for 59 charges, including 15 counts of murder and committing a terrorist act. He will return to court in April.
Sajid Akram, 50, was killed in the shootout with police at Bondi minutes after the father-son pair began the mass shooting.

Goulburn Supermax is based in the Southern Tablelands about 200km south-west of Sydney, as part of the Goulburn Correctional Complex. It is regarded as one of the most secure prisons in Australia.
A NSW government spokesman said public safety remained the “top priority” following the shooting.
“Corrective Services NSW takes its responsibility to appropriately manage serious offenders incredibly seriously,” the spokesman said.
