Page Six has reached out to Plaza’s rep for comment, but didn’t immediately receive a response.

Plaza tragically mourned the death of her late husband, Jeff Baena, in January 2025. The screenwriter died by suicide according to online records from the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office obtained by Page Six. He was 47 years old.

The two, who got married in 2021, had separated four months before Baena’s death.

Plaza broke her silence on his death last August during her appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast.

“Right in this very very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,” she told her former “Parks and Recreation” co-star. “Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning.”

Plaza noted that she was “very grateful to be moving through the world” and felt “OK.”

She later candidly described her grief.

“At all times, there’s, like, a giant ocean of just awfulness that’s just right there and I can see it.”

She continued, “Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it. And sometimes I look at it and sometimes I just try to get away from it, but it’s always there.”

It’s unclear when Plaza and 40-year-old Abbott’s relationship turned romantic, but they’ve worked with one another over the years. They co-starred in the 2023-2024 off-Broadway revival of “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea,” and were also co-stars in the 2020 comedic thriller “Black Bear.”
