Anne Hathaway’s latest ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ look includes a $99 JW Pei bag
The devil wears Prada, but Anne Hathaway wears JW Pei.
The actress arrived at the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Thursday in an all-black outfit Miranda Priestly would surely approve of, including a vintage Versace dress, sky-high platform pumps and dazzling Bvlgari jewelry.
Her JW Pei bag, however, was a steal compared to the rest of her designer ensemble.
It’s the latest in a string of high-fashion outings for the star, who is currently promoting “Mother Mary” and “The Devil Wears Prada 2” simultaneously.
While Hathaway opted for the glossy black version of JW Pei’s bestselling bag for her recent outing, the design comes in 16 other iterations, from croc-embossed vegan leather to a luxe-looking woven option.
Hathaway isn’t alone in embracing the deceptively affordable design; Bethenny Frankel has shouted it out in several Instagram Stories, once even saying the “insane” purse is “giving Birkin.”
She also included it in a TikTok about “how to look like a million bucks without spending it,” saying, “What I love about these bags is that they’re soft and mushy. What bag can you fold in the corner of a suitcase like this?”
Like Frankel, Hathaway has more than one JW Pei bag in her closet; in 2020, she stepped out carrying the label’s Maze Bag, a woven crossbody that retails for just $120.
Several other A-listers have also embraced the affordable bag brand, from Selena Gomez to Megan Fox to Kyle Richards.
Oprah even named the asymmetrical Harlee Shoulder Bag a “Favorite Thing” last year, writing that it’s “so cute.”
