All the details on Alessandra Ambrosio’s engagement ring from Buck Palmer
An Angel deserves a heavenly sparkler.
Alessandra Ambrosio and boyfriend Buck Palmer announced this week that they are engaged after two years together, with the jewelry designer popping the question while the pair were on vacation in Indonesia.
“I’d choose you in this life and every life. Here’s to forever, my love. 💍✨,” the Victoria’s Secret model captioned a joint Instagram post, showing off her dazzling diamond ring as well as the massive heart Palmer constructed from red flowers on the beach for the proposal.
In a second post, Ambrosio, 45, gave followers a closer look at her engagement ring, which experts told Page Six Style looks to be up to 8 carats and worth half a million dollars.
“Still soaking it all in… 💍🐞🌙 Some Magic moments,” the supermodel captioned the slideshow, showing off the solitaire stone in a yellow gold bezel setting.
Olivia Landau, founder of The Clear Cut, told us Ambrosio appears to be sporting a 5- to 7-carat elongated cushion-cut stone — the “hottest diamond of the moment,” she said — that could be worth anywhere from $200,000 to $500,000.
Landau added that bezel settings are trending in a major way at the moment.
“I think [the yellow gold bezel setting] might be the new classic,” she said. “It’s really beating out the solitaire engagement ring these days, and I love it; it is sleek, modern, classic and gorgeous.”
Zoë Kravitz, Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa all sport bezel-set engagement rings, too.
“Bezel settings are becoming one of the fastest-growing trends in bridal jewelry for their modern appearance and the additional protection it provides to the stone [versus] traditional prongs,” Worthy‘s Chief Gemological Officer Roy Albers told us.
Rare Carat CEO Ajay Anand agreed.
“What makes the ring particularly beautiful is the simplicity of the setting,” he told Page Six Style. “The warm yellow gold bezel frames the diamond beautifully without competing with it, allowing that incredible center stone to completely take center stage. It feels modern and understated while still being an absolute showstopper, just like Alessandra.”
It’s unclear whether Palmer, a jewelry designer by trade, had a hand in creating his fiancée’s ring, but he clearly has excellent taste.
