Alex Cooper’s husband, Matt Kaplan, accused of ‘frequently yelling’ at Unwell Network staff: report

Alex Cooper’s husband, Matt Kaplan, has been accused of “frequently yelling” at the “Call Her Daddy” host’s staff.

Sources close to Unwell Network — the couple’s production company — claimed there is constant conflict between Kaplan and staff members, per a bombshell Bloomberg report published Monday.

The co-CEO of Trending Media, who is in charge of day-to-day operations while Cooper focuses on “Call Her Daddy,” has allegedly “earned a reputation for frequently yelling at staff members.”

Some employees have reportedly threatened to walk out in the middle of film sets and live tours.

According to Bloomberg, one witness claimed Kaplan berated the staff on Cooper’s new show, “Unwell Winter Games,” and threatened to prevent them from working in Hollywood if they messed up, allegedly causing a seasoned crew member to burst into tears.

Crew members have allegedly filed formal complaints telling leadership they would quit if Kaplan didn’t behave better.

Though most of the alleged behavior occurred behind closed doors, a production manager threatened to quit in the middle of Cooper’s live tour in the 2025 documentary “Call Her Alex” — with Kaplan blaming the grueling work schedule.

However, a source told the outlet the manager’s breakdown was a consequence of Kaplan yelling and swearing at staff.

Kaplan’s alleged behavior comes after Cooper said in a Marie Claire interview in 2025 that her door is “always open” and she wishes to harbor a “very positive and safe” environment for their young staff as a CEO.

Cooper’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Kaplan is a producer who started his career at CBS out of college, working his way up from intern to director of digital development.

The Columbia University graduate founded Chapter One Films in 2013, then served as Awesomness Films’ president from 2015 to 2017.

Upon his departure from the company, Kaplan founded Ace Entertainment, which is best known for producing “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and its sequels.

At the time, Kaplan was married to “Originals” alum Claire Holt.

However, he and the actress, 37, filed for divorce one day ahead of their first wedding anniversary in April 2017.

Before his relationship with Holt, Kaplan famously dated Ashley Olsen between 2001 and 2004.

The businessman’s love story with Cooper, 31, began in 2020 when the duo met during a Zoom call.

Kaplan got down on one knee in March 2023, the same year the pair co-founded their Trending media company and its Unwell Network subsidiary. Kaplan and Cooper tied the knot in Mexico in April 2024.

The “Call Her Daddy” host has been making headlines of her own all week over her feud with Alix Earle.

Cooper broke her silence on the long-rumored drama on April 13, urging Earle, 25, to “stop hiding behind other people” and air their beef instead of being “passive-aggressive” on social media.

She dragged Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia into the drama days later over the 26-year-old dubbing Cooper a “mean girl” — which LaPaglia doubled down on during Sunday’s “PlanBri Uncut” podcast episode.
