Comments Off on Netflix boss gives cryptic response to Meghan Markle’s ‘The Gentlemen’ casting rumors

Netflix boss Manda Levin fueled speculation around Meghan Markle’s casting in “The Gentlemen” with a cryptic response.

“All bets are off,” the scripted chief replied when asked about Markle’s rumored casting at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday.

Last week, Page Six reported that the Duchess of Sussex is being considered for a currently unknown role in Season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s action-comedy series.

The role “is currently being written, so it’s unclear how many episodes [Meghan] would appear in,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

While Markle’s rep wasn’t available for comment, a Netflix representative confirmed to Page Six that the series has been renewed for a third season.

“The Gentlemen,” starring Theo James, premiered on Netflix in March 2024, with its second season set to debut Sept. 3.

The report comes on the heels of Markle planning a return to acting as she and husband Prince Harry move back to England.

“There have been inquiries in the entertainment space recently and things she is considering but nothing is confirmed right now,” a source exclusively told Page Six on Aug. 21.

Our source added, “Something is being discussed but it’s not solid.”

Fittingly, Netflix’s “The Gentlemen” is set in England and filmed in the UK.

Markle, however, was previously dropped by Netflix in March. The streaming platform cut ties with her polarizing lifestyle brand, As Ever, and didn’t renew her two-season series, “With Love, Meghan.”

“Her show did not go on so it did not make sense to continue the partnership,” an industry source exclusively told Page Six in March.

Markle, best known for her breakout role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama “Suits” from 2011 to 2018, announced her decision to step back acting to focus on royal life in 2017 following her engagement to Harry.

In November 2025, eight years after she stepped back from the big screen, Page Six reported that Markle was making her big return acting.

She is set to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy “Close Personal Friends” with Brie Larson and Lily Collins. A release date has yet to be announced.

At the time, a source told the Sun that Harry was “really supportive” of her decision and “quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

Markle and Harry made their move back to Harry’s homeland with their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on Wednesday.

The younglings reportedly start school in England next week.
