Erling Haaland Gets Buzzcut, Ditches Signature Long Hair

Erling Haaland is kicking off a new Premier League season with a new ‘do.

The Norwegian soccer star sheared off his iconic long locks—which he styled in his signature man bun throughout the 2026 World Cup—into a buzzcut, shocking his fans and fellow athletes alike.

As Haaland wrote on Instagram Aug. 23 alongside photos of the hair transformation, “Short hair don’t care.”

But it seems the Manchester City player’s colleagues do. After all, Haaland, 26, video called a few members of the soccer community to get their reactions, with English player Jack Grealish joking the athlete looked “about 10 years old” with his new ‘do in a video shared to YouTube Aug. 23.

Meanwhile, retired soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn’t hold back on delivering his two cents.  

“Oh, my God, what the f–k is this? You lost a bet or what?” he quipped. “Block me and erase my number, my friend.”

As for what soccer manager Pep Guardiola thought of the makeover? Well, he wishes he had the luxury of undergoing a hair transformation.
