Paris Jackson details unconventional first meeting with mom Debbie Rowe at age 15
Paris Jackson described the moment she casually met her mom, Debbie Rowe, for the first time at age 15.
“I remember coming downstairs and she was in the living room with my grandma,” the 28-year-old told “Call Her Daddy” listeners on Wednesday. “I came in and I was just like, ‘Hey, Mom.’”
Jackson confirmed host Alex Cooper’s question that she did “right away” refer to Rowe, 67, as mom.
Rowe, notably, gave birth to her and Michael Jackson’s daughter — and their now-29-year-old son, Prince — in 1997 and 1998, respectively.
The nurse and the King of Pop divorced in 2000, with the latter getting full custody of the kids.
During the mother-daughter meetup, Paris recalled, “I sat down, we talked for a second and then we went out for the day and just, like, hung out.”
As for their connection, Paris explained, “She’s a [Sagittarius], so she’s got the fire. And I’m an Aries, so I’ve got the fire. We’re very similar.”
The model clarified that she has learned how “expectations [can] f–k us up,” so she walked into that relationship — and others in her life — without them.
That way, Paris said, she doesn’t “end up maybe being disappointed or frustrated or irritated, or a resentment will be born or something.”
The singer noted, “When I walk into something and I don’t have expectations, it creates this really cool space for something organic to just blossom.”
Paris’ mindset in this area has become “more refined” over the years.
Reports surfaced in 2013 that Paris was “bonding” with her mom — and the pair made headlines for sharing a rare selfie together earlier this year.
While Paris did not elaborate further on their connection Wednesday, she did give rare insight into her super secretive childhood with Michael, Prince and younger brother Bigi, now 24.
The actress explained why wearing masks while out in public “made sense” — so the siblings could “go to Chuck E. Cheese and be normal” — and noted they were not allowed to watch TV except on weekends after doing chores and homework.
She called her late father, who died in 2009 at 50, a “really funny guy,” referring to herself as the Grammy winner’s “little princess.”
