KATSEYE Addresses Manon Bannerman’s Hiatus in the Wild Hearts Documentary

KATSEYE is getting candid about the gnarly side of fame. 

Group members Yoonchae, Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Sophia Laforteza and Megan Skiendiel shared rare comments about bandmate Manon Bannerman’s monthslong absence, as well as the harsh realities of fame in their new documentary Wild Hearts, which comes out Aug. 12.  

“When Manon went on hiatus, it was definitely sad,” Laforteza says in the film. “Manon connects with people at an incredible level.”

While they have mostly kept the details of Bannerman’s hiatus private since she announced her break in February, the girl group admitted that the attention they receive can, at times, be hard to manage. Cutting together footage from their two years as a band, the documentary depicts the highs and lows of pop superstardom—and how it has impacted the members. 

And Bannerman isn’t the only member who has needed a break. In fact, Skiendiel understands what it’s like to have to take a step back from the group, as she briefly went on her own hiatus in late 2024. As a result, she empathizes whenever her fellow bandmates need rest.
