Footage shows swarm of cop cars at Perez Hilton’s Miami home after livestreaming apparent self-harming video
Surveillance footage obtained by Page Six shows a swarm of cop cars at celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s home after he posted a disturbing video in which he appears to be covered in blood from harming himself.
Three squad cars from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office pulled up to the father-of-three’s Miami home with sirens blaring around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, a neighbor’s Ring doorbell footage shows, after police confirmed they received “multiple calls” of “an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.”
Fifteen minutes later, more law enforcement officers were on the scene and tried to get inside.
“Mario, it’s the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, please step out of the house,” one deputy can be heard repeatedly saying — referring to the 48-year-old by his birth name, Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.
Outside, another deputy can be seen putting on plastic gloves.
The doorbell footage shows officials were still on the scene by 11:11 p.m., four hours after they first arrived.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office told Page Six deputies spoke with Hilton’s family members who were on the scene and ultimately decided to “tactfully disengage” while continuing to “monitor the situation” after confirming Hilton was alone inside.
Hilton, a father of three children by surrogacy — Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8 — was rushed by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he received medical attention, police said.
Raisa and Armando Gonzalez, who live two doors down from Hilton’s place, estimated that half a dozen or more police vehicles responded to the 911 call along with fire trucks and an ambulance.
After police showed up, Armando said he saw Hilton’s “shocked” children arriving at the property with two adult women.
“They waited on the sidewalk on the other side of the street. I don’t think they even knew what was going on,” he continued.
“They weren’t crying, they looked shocked.”
At 10:41 p.m. Tuesday night, a dispatch call came in for a “suicide attempt,” according to 911 audio obtained by Page Six.
Police were able to make entry into Hilton’s home around 11 p.m., according to the recording.
Dispatch gave a graphic description of Hilton’s self-harm attempts, which Page Six has chosen not to publish.
Hilton’s representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan said in a statement they “are aware of the concerning content circulating online” involving their client.
“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” they added just hours after the incident. “Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further.”
