Justin Bieber recreated his viral “standing on business” rant to the paparazzi in his headlining set during Weekend One of Coachella 2026.
As the “Daisies” hitmaker sang along to his earlier hits via YouTube at the Indio, California, music festival Saturday night, he played the clip from July 2025.
He introduced the video by telling the audience, “These guys just won’t leave me alone, bro.”
As the footage played out — with Bieber telling a paparazzo he was a “husband and a dad” who was “not to be f–ked with” — he repeated the words into his microphone, per clips shared via social media.
Bieber’s Coachella performance marked his first major headlining set since 2022 — and left fans divided with its minimalism, from the “SWAG”-heavy set list to the YouTube segment.
Some social media users have dubbed the show “lazy,” while others praised Bieber for returning to the YouTube roots that made him famous.
Bieber’s last major performance took place before he was forced to abandon his Justice World Tour over health issues.
Although the tour was scheduled to run from February 2022 through March 2023, the “Love Yourself” singer stopped in September 2022 due to partial facial paralysis, which he suffered as a symptom of his Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis.
Bieber wouldn’t perform solo again until the 2026 Grammys in February. He played the “Swag” track “Yukon” while dressed down in nothing but sparkling satin boxer shorts and a pair of socks, all after stepping back from the limelight amid mental health concerns.
Although he never headlined Coachella before, the “Peaches” singer did make a handful of guest appearances over the years, including with Chance the Rapper in 2014, Ariana Grande in 2019, Daniel Caesar in 2022 and Tems in 2024.
But to prepare for his long-awaited concert comeback, Bieber organized two invite-only warm-up shows in Los Angeles ahead of the two-weekend festival.
The first took place at the 500-person capacity Roxy Theatre on March 29 and saw Bieber play a 25-song set exclusively from his 2025 albums “Swag” and “Swag II.”
“This has been so beautiful,” he told the crowd at the intimate West Hollywood venue. “It’s a little sneak preview into Coachella, which is gonna be so much fun.”
He held another sneak preview at the Troubadour on April 4, which, like the Roxy the weekend before, was invite-only and included tracks solely from Justin’s two latest records.
Meanwhile, the “Baby” singer’s two Coachella shows reportedly garnered him a staggering $10 million payday.
“It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own,” an insider told Rolling Stone back in September.
“Between headlining Coachella and the success of ‘Swag,’ it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin — one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat,” the source added.
Bieber was said to have secured the $5 million-per-weekend deal with Coachella’s promoter, Goldenvoice, without the help of an agent or manager.
But that doesn’t mean the “Purpose” artist’s wife, Hailey Bieber, wasn’t helping her husband navigate the lucrative deal and serving as a “driving force” behind the scenes.
“Hailey was a big influence on Justin’s decision to headline Coachella,” a source told Us Weekly shortly after Justin was announced as a headliner last year.
“She nudged him and is always in his corner, hyping him up.”
Another insider added, “She knows firsthand how much it means to his fans to see him back on stage, so she was like, ‘You have to do this!’”
Since being officially announced as a Coachella 2026 headliner alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G on Sept. 15, Justin dropped several teasers for his long-awaited comeback.
Justin and Hailey brought their 1-year-old son, Jack Blues, to the Coachella Valley at the end of September and shared several sweet snaps of the trio exploring the festival grounds.
He also uploaded a visualizer for the “Swag II” track “Speed Demon” to YouTube in September. The music video was filmed at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, where Coachella is held.
Most recently, the “Sorry” singer tweeted a clip from his warm-up show at the Roxy with the caption, “See you all soon.”
Justin will return to the Coachella 2026 stage next Saturday night to kick off his second headlining set.
