Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner lose bid to keep Ray J sex tape settlement private

Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner lost their legal bid to keep portions of their 2023 sex tape settlement with Ray J private, according to court documents filed in Los Angeles on Monday and obtained by Page Six.

The reality stars filed a motion last month arguing that releasing details of the settlement over Kardashian and Ray J’s infamous 2007 sex tape “would cause substantial harm” to their privacy.

But this week, Judge Steven A. Ellis ruled in Los Angeles Superior Court that Kardashian and Jenner “presented no admissible evidence” that the deal being made public would harm them.

The judge added that the duo’s arguments were “too vague, speculative, amorphous, and unsupported to support the requested sealing order.”

In addition, Ellison ruled that the case was not about “Kardashian engaging in sexual activities,” since all parties involved recognize that the sex tape “has already been the subject of public disclosure.”

Overall, Kardashian and Jenner’s motions were denied “except as to a bank account number in certain exhibits,” the docs stated.

Page Six has reached out to Kardashian and Ray J’s reps for comment.

The latest legal drama between the stars began in October, when Kardashian, 45, and Jenner, 70, sued Ray J, 45, for defamation after he claimed to be working with the feds to build a RICO case against both women.

In response, the “One Wish” singer sued the mother-daughter duo in November for allegedly violating their settlement by discussing the sex tape on an episode of their Hulu series “The Kardashians.”

According to TMZ, Kardashian, Jenner, Ray J and his mom, Sonja Norwood, all signed the deal, which reportedly said that the foursome would resolve all past and future claims, disputes, causes of action, defenses and alleged losses concerning the sex tape.

Ray J was allegedly paid $6 million to sign the 2023 settlement.

In his lawsuit against Kardashian and Jenner, Ray J also claimed they were the ones to release the sex tape — an allegation he first made headlines for in 2022.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alums denied those claims in another court filing obtained by Page Six in March.

In her declaration, Jenner called Ray J’s allegations “deeply offensive and harmful.”

The momager added, “I was absolutely heartbroken, crushed and devastated as a mother to see my daughter in this situation where her most intimate and private moments were exposed to the world.”

Kardashian and Ray J famously filmed themselves having sex on vacation in Mexico in October 2003. The tape was later released by Vivid Entertainment in 2007.
