Kendra Duggar has reportedly gone into hiding in a “very private” location with children following her child endangerment arrest last Friday.
The mother of four made the reveal while speaking with her husband, Joseph Duggar — who is currently being held at the Washington County Correctional Facility — on a March 20 phone call to the jail hours after her own release.
“Did you hear that I’m out here with, um, did you hear where I’m at and everything?” Kendra asked Joseph on the call, according to a recording obtained by People.
Joseph then advised Kendra to not share the location where she is staying. While she initially appeared to disagree with the thought, she ultimately does not share the whereabouts of her hideout.
“They brought me to a good place to stay that’s very private,” Kendra said.
Children could be heard running around and playing in the background as Kendra moved on to discuss how Joseph was faring while behind bars.
“So you’re doing okay?” Kendra asked.
Joseph answered that he was “trying to keep [his] spirits up” and was “reading the Bible” which he said “has really been helpful and calming to think about all the situation – situations.”
Kendra offered to then bring him some other reading materials, but he didn’t immediately answer her suggestion. After two minutes without a response, Kendra hung up the call, which was paid for on Joseph’s end.
A rep for the Duggars did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Kendra was arrested and charged with four second degree counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and four second degree counts of false imprisonment last Friday. Joseph was also hit with the same charges.
Kendra and Joseph’s victims have remained unnamed, but the parents have been barred from having contact with them as a result of their arrest, according to the Sun.
It’s unclear if the children heard on the recording were Joseph and Kendra’s four kids.
As Page Six exclusively revealed earlier this week, Joseph — who was arrested earlier that week for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl in Florida — has only called two people since his March 18 arrest.
Phone logs from the jail revealed that Joseph, 31, called the phone number of his wife on March 19. But, she did not respond to the call. Joseph also called a management consultant on the same day, but the call was left unanswered.
On March 20, he tried his wife’s number again and they spoke for eight minutes. He called her number again on March 21 and 22, with both calls lasting 21 minutes.
Joseph made two separate calls to Kendra’s number on March 23. The first conversation lasted approximately around 20 minutes and the second call ended after 9 minutes.
His sole physical visitor has been his attorney.
