Byron Farmers Markets – SMH Good Food app review

Over two decades, Byron Farmers Market has established itself as ground zero for small-scale produce in the region. Swing past Butler Street Reserve on Thursday mornings, or sister market Bangalow Farmers Market in Piccabeen Park on Saturdays and the community spirit is palpable.

Rain or shine, expect organic produce with low food miles – heirloom tomatoes, say, or new season garlic – tropical fruits, natives including Atherton raspberry and finger limes, macadamia everything, sourdough, matcha, mushrooms and more. Oh, and don’t skip Sunflour for canelés or Sweet n Sourdough for sourdough doughnuts. Plus, Byron or Bangalow, there’s plenty of picnic tables on the grass and room for the little ones to run free.
