Hawkesbury trainer Brad Widdup will tune up for what could be a lucrative week for the stable when he sends three leading chances to Tuesday’s Kembla Grange meeting.

Widdup had Jedibeel finish fourth in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield on Saturday and will chase another Group 1 at Randwick this week when Savvy Hallie lines up in the Surround Stakes.

But he will first focus on Kembla Grange, where he will start the day by having Tulou lining up in the Time To Reign @ Kingstar Farm Midway Maiden Handicap (1500m) with Andrew Adkins to ride.

Tulou races in the same colours as Savvy Hallie and comes into the Kembla Grange event having resumed with a ninth at Warwick Farm behind the highly touted Journeyman.

“Tulou’s a filly by Tagaloa that ran in the Pierro Plate this time last year and then had a couple of runs in July and August,” Widdup said.

“We gave her two trials before she resumed, and she took on a handy field at Warwick Farm. She’s come through that run well and Tuesday’s race looks more suitable.”

Widdup will have Sneaky Choice in the April O’Shea-The People’s Champion Class 1 Handicap (1500m) with Tommy Berry taking the ride on the mare from barrier one.

“She’s had two runs back from a spell now and has run well in each of them,” Widdup said.

“She was beaten two lengths on the Beaumont track at Newcastle when resuming and then was a length from the winner at Kembla at her latest start.
