Sarah Ferguson’s unusual three-word comment about Andrew as pair ‘seek separate homes’ | Royal | News

With a potential eviction from Royal Lodge looming, Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson are reportedly seeking out new homes they can relocate to. While they have co-habited at the 30-bed Crown Estate property in Windsor for a number of years, it seems that they no longer want this to be the case.

Instead, it has been widely reported that Andrew has asked they be given two homes if they leave Royal Lodge – one for him and one for her. It is not yet known if this demand for two properties will be met. Such a demand may also come as a surprise, especially as Andrew and Sarah have appeared to be more than happy living under the same roof.

This was made clear years ago when Sarah made an unusual three-word comment about the prince, 65, who she divorced in 1996.

Speaking to The Daily Mail just a few years ago, Sarah called the pair the “happiest divorced couple”.

She said: “We’re the happiest divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other.”

While this may have seemed nice at the time, it now raises the question as to why co-habiting is no longer on their cards now, and whether the recent scandals have impacted the friendship the once-married couple have always shared.

Although Andrew and Sarah, 66, have not acknowledged the reason for reportedly wanting individual homes themselves, a friend of the couple spoke to The Sun on Monday and shared why they are wanting to go their separate ways.

The friend told the publication: “Sarah and Andy have lived together at Royal Lodge since 2008 despite being divorced and seen like they are still a married couple.

“It’s incredible that they are willing to go their own separate ways. But it indicates that they have been under immense strain this year and need a break from one another. It’s a fresh start for both.”

Buckingham Palace are yet to confirm the situation with Royal Lodge.
