Track soft 5 and rail true.
RACE 1
2. Just Legendary is a progressive three-year-old trained on the course, and only needs to tuck in from an awkward draw to have this at his mercy. Came off two trials to only miss by a head as a hot favourite here 17 days ago, and comes back a shade in distance. Stablemate 3. Shredded was part of that three-way finish when also resuming, and will give a big sight again if he finds a comfortable lead coming back to this trip. Gap to the rest, headed by the third of the Matthew Dunn-trained runners, 1. Insta Worthy, which has placed in three from four runs this prep, while 6. Australasia is a second-up improver that can add value to exotics.
How to play it: Just Legendary to win; quinella 2 and 3.

RACE 2
4. Zephirine is a hard-fit mare from the Chris Waller training base on the Gold Coast, well placed to finally break through deep into her second prep. Had been working home OK in better races over the border before only missing by a whisker here. Drawn inside with handy weight relief, and is ready to win. 8. Virginia Breezes is an improving Gold Coast filly tracking to peak fourth up. 1. Frankely Sublime is a stalemate of the top selection that will relish this company after three fair efforts in deeper provincial fields. 6. Puligny, fourth up and trained on the track, heads the rest.
How to play it: Zephirine to win.
RACE 3
5. Cape Crusader is a tough type from over the border, and well placed to go back-to-back. Found his best when stepping up to BM74 level at Grafton and charging over the top late. Gets a 2kg weight drop for the rise in grade from a soft draw, and this is only an average line-up. 6. Bold Hoi Ho is over the odds deep into the prep for an underrated country stable. Missed narrowly in the feature Christmas Cup at Lismore, and back out now over a bit more ground is ideal. 7. Fat Fingers gets a cosy run second up from the inside draw. 1. Hadouken and 8. Caracoran, both second up over further, can run into the minor money.
How to play it: Cape Crusader to win.
RACE 4
2. Silent Call is another big improver from the Dunn yard suited second up over significantly more ground. Bolted in in his maiden here at the same stage of the initial prep in early winter, and is headed for much better races than this. The one to beat. 6. He’s Poplar dropped right out as a well-backed favourite second up when the jockey reported his mount never travelled at any stage. Was examined at length by vets and can bounce back from the inside draw. 7. She’s Enuff has been in the placings in her past two and very fit deep into the campaign, while 3. Showman can run a race at good odds third up from a handy draw.
How to play it: Silent Call to win.
