The man who murdered 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley at a remote beach north of Cairns has been sentenced to at least 25 years in jail.
On Monday, former hospital nurse Rajwinder Singh was found guilty of murder, seven years after the 24-year-old pharmacy worker’s body was discovered at Wangetti Beach in far north Queensland.
Justice Lincoln Crowley handed down the sentence for the 41-year-old at Cairns Supreme Court on Tuesday, at the end of a four-week retrial of the man who was extradited from India to face the charge.
Toyah Cordingley was found dead on Wangetti Beach in north Queensland the day after she was reported missing.
