Teen fatally stabbed behind Sydney school in Rouse Hill

A 17-year-old boy has died after being stabbed behind a school in Sydney’s north-west.

Several emergency response teams, including a CareFlight helicopter, were dispatched to a park behind Rouse Hill High School at 4.20pm on Monday following reports of the attack.

Paramedics attempted resuscitation, but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been stabbed in the leg.

Police received reports two people, believed to be teenagers, were seen fleeing the scene. One of them was believed to be wearing a school uniform.

A perimeter has been established at the entrance to the reserve at Caballo Street, which straddles Rouse Hill High School and Ironbark Public School. Local detectives are investigating with the State Crime Command’s homicide squad.

Police will address the media at 7.30pm.

Attorney-General Michelle Rowland, whose federal electorate of Greenway includes Rouse Hill, said she was “deeply saddened” to learn of the boy’s “tragic” death.
